Birding by Ear

A 4-part online workshop

The sheer volume of songs and calls can often feel overwhelming for birders, but these sounds offer an opportunity and a challenge. Learn how to better ID birds through their vocalizations based on which areas they inhabit.  (We’ll take a virtual bird walk each week to learn the vocalizations of birds in different habitats you visit.)

Week 1 (5/13) Birds in your Neighborhood or local Park

Week 2 (5/20) Forest Birds

Week 3 (5/27) Birds of grasslands and shrub-lands

Week 4 (6/3) Wetlands and Waterbirds
