Hawks may migrate by day but did you know some owls also migrate by night? Our smallest (and perhaps cutest) owl species in the northeast, the Northern Saw-whet Owl migrates through our region on Autumn nights and researchers have gained valuable knowledge on these birds through banding them. Join us as we welcome Trudy Battaly and Drew Panko who will discuss their work banding Northern Saw-Whet Owls at Westchester Community College. These small but fierce predators are the silent travelers of our night skies. We will also have the opportunity to meet a Saw-whet Owl up close!
